Was in the savory mood for breakfast, so I figured a pizza was a solid choice š¤·āāļø But not just any old breakfast pizza, no no no āļø This little dude was made with homemade sprouted & organic whole wheat dough, along with bacon, peppers, potatoes, and a homemade cheese sauce š¤¤ At 199 calories a slice, you really canāt go wrong!
Ingredients:
~220g whole wheat pizza dough (made with @onedegreeorganics sprouted whole wheat flour, recipe coming soon)
4 @vitalfarms pasture-raised eggs
4.5oz @simpletruth4u organic cheese, can use 6-8oz if desired (I used colby jack)
2 strips @applegate Sunday bacon, cooked
1 organic pepper, diced (I used half red & half green)
150g @simpletruth4u organic russet potato, diced and cooked
1 tbsp @bobsredmill gluten-free 1-1 flour (can sub all purpose flour)
1 tbsp @kerrygoldusa salted butter
Ā½ cup @horizonorganic whole milk
Instructions:
If potatoes and bacon are not already precooked, begin cooking them so they will be ready to add to the pizza
Preheat oven to 450F
Roll out/stretch pizza dough to desired size and thickness
In a medium saucepan, add the butter and allow to melt. Then, add flour and stir to combine. Next, add the milk and continue stirring until a sauce begins to form. Finally, add 3-4oz of the cheese and stir into the sauce. Once incorporated, keep the sauce warm until you are ready to spread it on your pizza dough
Add pizza dough to the preheated oven and allow to bake for about 7 minutes before adding any toppings or sauce
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the raw peppers, eggs, and precooked potatoes while the pizza dough bakes (remove from heat once eggs finish cooking)
Once the pizza dough has baked for 7 minutes, spread the cheese sauce across it and add the remainder of the toppings and cheese
Bake for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until cheese is golden and dough is cooked through
Enjoy!
