Homemade Cinnamon Applesauce

Are you team warm or cold applesauce? Either way, this thick and delicious applesauce recipe is just what you need this fall šŸ‚ Not to mention, the recipe is super quick to make in an instant pot and is packed with apple and cinnamon goodness! šŸ˜‹


Ingredients:

3 lbs organic apples, cored and cut into chunks (about 9 medium apples, peel if desired) @simpletruth4u

Ā½ cup (120ml) water

2 tbsp coconut, date, or maple sugar (can sub allulose, monk fruit, or stevia)

1 Ā½ tsp ground cinnamon @frontiercoop

1 Ā½ tsp lemon juice (optional)

Ā¾ tsp vanilla extract @frontiercoop

Ā½ tsp unrefined salt

Ā¼ tsp nutmeg


Instructions:

1. Place the apples, water, sweeteners, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg in a large saucepan or dutch oven over medium heat. Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, for about 30 minutes or until apples are soft and broken down (OR pressure cook on high for 5 MINUTES in an instant pot)

2. Use a potato masher, food processor, or blender to chop apples into your desired consistency. Then, stir in the lemon juice (if using) and vanilla

3. Allow to cool, then enjoy! Store in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months!
