Dairy-Free Hot Cocoa

With all this cold weather we’ve been having, you gotta have something to warm you up 🥶 Coffee and tea are always nice, but nothing can top a good ol’ cup of hot cocoa 😍 This version can be made completely dairy-free and you can even add some collagen or chocolate protein powder for a nice lil’ protein boost 💪 However you choose to cocoa, you will not regret it! 😋

Ingredients:

1 cup @so_delicious organic, unsweetened coconut milk (can sub other milk alternatives or cow milk if not dairy-free)

1 tablespoon (8g) @terrasoul raw cacao powder

1 Tablespoon (20g) @simpletruth4u pure maple syrup (can sub 12g coconut sugar, cane sugar, monk fruit, or stevia instead)

1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

15g @gardenoflife plant-based chocolate protein powder or collagen peptides, optional (can sub whey protein if not dairy-free)

24g @so_delicious CocoWhip, optional (can sub whipped cream if not dairy-free)

5g @terrasoul cacao nibs (can sub shaved chocolate if not dairy-free)

Instructions:

1. Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir to remove any clumps and continue to stir as the mixture heats. If you have trouble with clumping, try using a whisk or frother

2. Once the mixture reaches your desired heat or begins to simmer, remove from heat and pour into a heat-resistant mug/glass

3. Top with dairy-free whipped cream and cacao nibs

4. Enjoy!
